Kortelisy

One year after the unprecedented massacre of Babi Yar, the village population of Kortelisy 🇺🇦 was slaughtered. Westerners' culture of remembrance was shaped by "Lidice and Oradour-sur-Glane".  

While Ukrainians are presently suffering under the Russian military's attack, this rural place between Brest and the Pripyat was wiped out on September 23, 1942. More than 2,500 civilians died.
